The Economic Citizenship by Investment Program

The Economic Citizenship by Investment Program was established in 1984. It is the longest established program of this kind in the world. The St Kitts Economic Citizenship by Investment program has strict investment requirements. Tax, Passport and Residence

The St. Kitts and Nevis Economic Citizenship programme permits purchases of property worth $400,000.00 to apply for a St. Kitts and Nevis passport. Property owners who apply for citizenship are subject to a due diligence review by the Government, Those who choose not to apply for citizenship are permitted to sell their property subsequently with this entitlement.

The passport gives right of abode with no obligation to do so and permits visa-free travel to more than 90 countries. St. Kitts has a favourable tax regime; the island has no income tax, capital gains tax, wealth tax or inheritance tax.

Investment Requirements

A substantial investment of at least $400,000.00 United States currency or its equivalent in Eastern Caribbean currency in an “approved investment project”

The registration fees applicable will be:

US$35,000.00 or its equivalent in East Caribbean currency for head of household (male or female) or any other adult.
US$15,000.00 or its equivalent in East Caribbean currency for either spouse.
US$15,000.00 or its equivalent in East Caribbean currency for each child under 18 years.
US$35,000.00 or its equivalent in Eastern Caribbean currency for each adult family member.

Once an item of real estate has been the basis of a successful economic citizenship application, that item of real estate shall cease to be an “approved investment” for any further application without prior approval of the Cabinet.
